“BORN OF FIRE”- FILM PRESENTATION

The Asha Gallery was once again transformed into a magical world for a magical evening: a documentary film about a very special art form – fire juggling – was presented in the gallery. We were delighted to welcome the film's director and producer, Sahsa Hadjieva, who also demonstrated some of her skills in this art form after the screening. Our dear friend and fellow artist - Rüdiger Schultze provided the musical accompaniment and surprised us with an exclusive DJ set after the film. "Born of Fire" is a documentary about the fire art scene in Bulgaria and the local artists who are fighting for recognition and their place on the world art map. "We followed and documented the work of more than 30 fire artists – some of them performing solo, others as part of various artistic groups. We show footage and performances that will take your breath away, highlighting the different styles and aesthetics, the inspirations and emotions of the artists. Each of them has followed their own unique path," said the director of the movie and our special guest for the evening - Sasha Hadjieva

VASSIL VASSILEV “THE ZOUEK” – EXHIBITION

One of the most beloved Bulgarian actors ( currently located in Spain ) – Vassil Vassilev ( The Zouek) was presented in the gallery in a special exhibition with some of his most interesting paintings. The artists himself was not able to visit the vernissage himself ( sue to professional commitments broad ) but a special , theatrical-like connection was ensured, so that he was able to greet his guests. The opening of the evening was made by Mrs. Janka Hannemann-Mathes – the director of Stadt Marketing Tirschenreuth and member of the Modernes Theater – Tirschenreuth. His paintings carry the viewer to a surreal world , that is heavily influenced by his own experience in both modern and contemporary theater . We are very delighted, as we were able to bring this theatrical atmosphere in our beloved gallery, thus making the experience of our guests really special and intimate.

RUDIGER SCHULTZE – EXHIBITION AND DJ SET

Definitely one of the most successful events held in the gallery – with an amazing flow of guests and also an amazing party that followed the opening of the exhibition. Mr. Rudiger Schultze presented his eccentric sculptures and colorful paintings - many of them done in a special UV colors , and thus becoming completely different when exposed on UV light. For this reason, we prepared a two versions of the exhibition – one in light and one in dark, using only UV light. Moreover. after the opening Rudiger Schultze made an amazing DJ set, influenced by the beaches of Goa, India , that kept the people dancing until early morning. This was an entirely new format of doing exhibitions, that we in Asha Gallery will keep on promoting.
